The solution to complex environmental problems often involves multiple disciplines and multiple media (e.g. air, water, soil, building and manufacturing systems), the interactions of which are often unclear at the beginning of an assignment. You need a consultant with a depth of experience in multiple areas of the environmental engineering and consulting profession to solve these complex problems. RME's principals have a combined experience of 35 years working for regulatory agencies, large consulting firms, and private industry.

This experience was developed in multiple areas including enforcement and permitting (for both industry and U.S. EPA) related to the CWA, CAA, RCRA, and CERCLA. This experience has been tested in tough negotiations with state and federal environmental agencies and through support of civil litigation.

Responsiveness

You need a consultant that is responsive to your problems and unique needs. You don't need a consultant who has to call a senior staff expert located in another state, who happens to be on vacation, delaying the solution to your problem. RME's senior staff are the owners of the company. We understand tight deadlines and how to juggle competing concerns to meet the needs of our clients.

Common Sense

You need a consultant that uses common sense to solve problems. RME understands that complex mathematical models and extensive sampling programs are not always required to solve a problem. The Laws of Physics do not change and many times the best solution is the simplest.

Defensible Answers

You need a consultant that will provide you with defensible answers. Whether it is the development of a budget to purchase new pollution control technology, a permit limit, or the rendering of an expert opinion on the witness stand, you need a consultant that can justify answers based on sound science supported with regulatory or industry precedent. RME bases all of its opinions and recommendations on science and the facts, and can back them up with thorough documentation.
